Chuck Yrigoyen, a 34-year veteran to collegiate athletics, has been named the next commissioner of the MCVL, replacing Chris Martin who served as the league's first commissioner since 2014. Yrigoyen brings with him a diverse background in athletics that began at the Ivy League in 1983. For nine years, Yrigoyen served as an assistant director for public information, a new role at the Ivy League, where he oversaw the expansion of the office's public information function. While there, Yrigoyen developed the League's first website and directly had a hand in the technical and logistical arrangements for football and basketball telecasts. In 1998, he was promoted to associate director and in 2000, relinquished his public information duties and took primary responsibility for the League's nine championship events, oversight of officiating in 10 sports, contest scheduling coordination, competition issues and television logistics.

After 19 years at the Ivy League, Yrigoyen transitioned to the midwest after being hired as the Iowa Conference Commissioner. The Reading, Pa. native is the chief operating officer of the conference and works directly with the presidents, faculty representatives and directors of athletics to administer the affairs of the conference. Beginning in 2015, Yrigoyen guided the Iowa Conference through the addition of Nebraska Wesleyan to the conference, which became official in 2016.

In addition to his work with the Iowa Conference, Yrigoyen currently serves as the Vice President of the Division III Commissioners Association and will become the next president in January 2017. He also serves on the NCAA Convention Planning Subcommittee.
