Woodson and Chisholm Named MCVL Players of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (MCVL.org) -  Wittenberg's Deion Woodson and Mount St. Joseph's Andrew Chisholm headline as this week's honorees in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League.
 
Woodson powered the Tigers to a 3-0 record last week with wins over St. John Fisher, Penn State-Behrend and Hiram. In three matches, Wittenberg dropped one set, earning sweeps against St. John Fisher and Hiram. Woodson finished the week with 35 kills on 57 attempts for a .491 attack percentage, including 17 kills in the win over Penn State-Behrend. In the finale against Hiram, Woodson finished with eight kills on 11 attempts with one error for a .636 attack percentage.
 
Woodson is the first Wittenberg student-athlete to earn MCVL Player of the Week honors since Joel Sotos did so in Week 2 of the 2016 season.
 
Chisholm led his team back into the AVCA Top 15 this week after a pair of wins over top-10 opponents in No. 9 Juniata and No. 5 Nazareth. Against Juniata, Chisholm totaled 11 blocks, including three solo stops while finishing with nine kills for a .389 attack percentage. In six matches this season, Chisholm has 28 blocks, averaging 1.22 per set.
 
For the second consecutive week, Mount St. Joseph brought home the MCVL Defensive Player of the Week honors after Joey Piazza was recognized in Week 1. Since the inception of the MCVL, Mount St. Joseph has 14 Player of the Week honors, second among current teams in the league.
