Melbardis, Connolly and Reinsel Headline POTW

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (MCVL.org) – MSJ's Nick Melbardis and Carthage's Parker Connolly and Matt Reinsel headline this week's honorees in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League's Player of the Week.

Parker Connolly earns Offensive Player of the Week with his performance last week leading the Red Men with a .667 attacking percentage with 15 kills averaging 3.00 kills per set. In Carthage's three-set-victory over Olivet, Connolly finished with eight kills and a single error with a .778 attacking percentage.

Nick Melbardis has been awarded Co-Defensive Player of the Week leading MSJ in the libero position for the first time in his career. Melbardis dominated the weekend with 30 digs averaging 4.29 digs per set over seven sets.

Matt Reinsel earns Co-Defensive Player of the Week leading Carthage to a 2-0 weekend totaling 11 digs and 12 blocks over six sets. Reinsel averaged 1.83 digs per set and 2.0 blocks per set for the week and knocked down nine blocks in the victory over Adrian.

This is MSJ's fourth MCVL Player of the Week and first since Jason Hascher did so March 13, 2019. Carthage brings home their seventh MCVL Player of the Week and is the second time that the Red Men receive two honorees in the same week this season.
