Yrigoyen Appointed MCVL Director of Information

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (MCVL.org) – The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) is pleased to announce the hiring of Darin Yrigoyen as its new Director of Information.

Yrigoyen is currently the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla. and brings with him a litany of experience in the volleyball world. A former MCVL student-athlete at Loras College, the Langhorne, Pa. native has most recently worked as the primary contact for two seasons with women’s volleyball at Kutztown University as a graduate assistant.

Before his time at KU, Yrigoyen assisted former MCVL Director of Information James Naprstek with the coverage of both the men’s and women’s volleyball programs at Loras College, during his tenure as a student-athlete and athletic communications assistant. He brings with him an expertise in social media management and graphic design along with an understanding of the traditional tasks involved with sports information. His responsibilities with the MCVL will include the maintenance of mcvl.org, traditional stat/record keeping and management/production of web and social media content.

A 2017 alumnus of Loras College with an undergraduate degree in Sport Management, Yrigoyen went on to obtain his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Kutztown University, graduating in December 2019.

The MCVL will embark on its sixth season in 2020 with six members, returning Adrian College, Fontbonne University, Mount Saint Joseph University, Olivet College and Trine University while welcoming newcomer-University of Mount Union into the fray. 2021 will feature the addition of Wabash College to the fold as the conference continues its growth and transition.
