CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (MCVL.org) – Adrian College has officially announced Casey Fitzpatrick as its next men’s volleyball coach, beginning with the 2020-21 season.
“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to take over the volleyball program at Adrian College,” commented Fitzpatrick. “I look forward to working with this determined group of young men and building a solid foundation for a successful future of Bulldog Volleyball.”
Fitzpatrick begins his first season at the Adrian College helm after serving as a member of the Nichols College men's volleyball coaching staff in 2019 as well as a graduate assistant coach in 2018 for the Western New England University women's program.
In its first season of varsity competition, the men’s volleyball program won 17 matches and advanced to the New England Collegiate Conference (CCC) Semifinals. The Bison were led by a pair of all-conference performers in NECC Rookie of the Year Lance Law (First Team) and Ray Wang (Second Team).
Fitzpatrick was a four-year member of the men’s volleyball team at The Sage Colleges (2015-18), where he graduated first in digs (884), tied-first in matches played (119), second all-time in assists (1,401), and eighth in service aces (51). He also was a two-time Skyline All-Conference selection (2015, 2017) who led the Empire 8 Conference and ranked No. 14 nationally in digs per set as a senior. He was an active member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and received his bachelor’s degree in business in May 2018.
Fitzpatrick also has been a coach at the North East Beach Volleyball Club for the past three years.
The MCVL will embark on its sixth season in 2020 with six members, returning Adrian College, Fontbonne University, Mount Saint Joseph University, Olivet College and Trine University while welcoming newcomer-University of Mount Union into the fray. 2021 will feature the addition of Wabash College to the fold as the conference continues its growth and transition.
