MCVL, U.S.A -- The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League today announced its eighth weekly award-winners for 2023. Wittenberg's Michael Yurk was chosen Offensive Player of the Week and Wabash's Zachary Small was the pick for Defensive Player of the Week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Michael Yurk (Fr., OH) Indianapolis, Ind.
- Racked up 51 kills at an average of 3.40 kills per set and a .374 clip in four matches.
- Helped the Tigers to a victory over Fontbonne with 16 kills, 5.33 kills pet set and .433 attack percentage.
- Totaled a career-high 23 kills in a five-set win over Kentucky State.
- Attended Bishop Chatard High School.
Defensive Player of the Week
Zachary Small (So., S) Dublin, Calif.
- Racked up 35 digs at an average of 5.0 digs per set.
- Had just two reception errors on 61 attempts.
- First Career DPOTW Award.
- Attended Dublin High School.
