MCVL, U.S.A -- The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League today announced its ninth weekly award-winners for 2023. Baldwin Wallace's Michael Beard was chosen Offensive Player of the Week and Mount St. Joseph's Logan Essen was the pick for Defensive Player of the Week. 

Offensive Player of the Week

Michael Beard, Baldwin Wallace (Jr., OH) Hilliard, Ohio

• Racked up 32 kills at a blistering .343 clip in two matches for BW.
• Averaged 5.33 kills per set and 6.8 points per set.
• 2022 Second Team All-MCVL
• Attended Hilliard High School

Defensive Player of the Week

Logan Essen (Jr., L) Cincinnati, Ohio

• Averaged 3.91 digs per set over three matches for MSJ.
• Totaled 43 digs and had just five reception errors on 68 attempts.
• Second DPOTW Honor of 2023.
• Attended Oak Hills High School.
