MCVL Gears Up for League Season, Announces Week Seven Award Winners

MCVL, U.S.A. — The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) honored Adrian's Chase Heuer and Mount Union's Peyton Koszelak as its weekly award winners on Wednesday.

Heuer earned Offensive Player of the Week honors for the Bulldogs while Koszelak was named Defensive Player of the Week, representing the Purple Raiders.

Heuer picks up his second-straight honor as the senior outside hitter continues to produce as Adrian's primary option. The West Chicago, Ill. native posted 30 kills in two matches at a .261 clip, averaging 3.75 kills per set. He also racked up four service aces, helping the Bulldogs to a solid day at Thiel on Feb. 24.

Koszelak notched his second nod as DPOW this season and ranks among the nation's best in digs per set. Over four matches this week for Mount Union, the freshman libero totaled 63 digs and just four reception errors on 79 attempts.  The Eden, N.Y. native posted 4.20 digs per set and added 15 combined assists.

This marks the first time that season that both winners have been repeat honorees as Heuer earns back-to-back selections and Koszelak earned the same award after the opening week of competition. This also is the last edition of the weekly awards from non-conference play as the 2024 MCVL slate kicks off this weekend.
