Black's double-double leads men's volleyball to win over North Park

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's volleyball recorded a four-set win over North Park on Saturday at H.J. Long Gymnasium.  The Panthers won the first two sets 25-18 and 25-21 before falling in the third set 25-23, and finishing the match with a 25-19 win in the final set.

The Panthers hit well in each set, starting with a line of 15 kills/5 errors/31 attacks/.323 hitting percentage in the first set.

GU produced a line of 15/6/39/.231 in the second set, 15/4/34/.324 in the third, and ended the match with 14/3/24/.458.

George Black had an outstanding match on the attack for Greenville with a career-high 20 kills in 38 swings.  He finished with a hitting rate of .421 and completed a double-double for the first time with 10 digs.

Johnny Milabu was effective in the middle for Greenville with a line of 10/1/15/.600.

Tim Neff received the start and hit 6/0/13/.462 while adding two solo blocks.

Prior to the match, the Panthers honored senior Tanner Smith on passing the milestone of 3,000 career assists in their match on Tuesday against Fontbonne.  He added 46 assists in Saturday's match.

Logan Dameris supported the Greenville defense with 11 digs.

The victory over North Park was GU's second of the season against the Vikings.

The Panthers (11-13) travel to Missouri Baptist to face their junior varsity on Tuesday.
