Men's volleyball record moves to .500 with loss at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The men's volleyball team returned to Greenville after suffering a four set loss at Augustana in MCVL action on Saturday.

The Panthers fell 25-20, 17-25, 25-23, 25-19.

Greenville opened with a strong hitting percentage in the opening set, producing 9 kills/2 errors/20 attacks/.350 hitting percentage.

The Panthers improved in the set that they won, adding a 14/4/25/.400 line.

GU slipped to 10/5/33/.152 in the third set and 10/6/32/.125 in the final set.

Johnny Milabu had a strong match for the Panthers with 10 kills and a hitting rate of .529. He also added one solo block and three block assists.

George Black tied Milabu for the team-high in kills, but he had seven errors that dropped his hitting percentage to .100.

Tanner Smith provided 37 set assists.

Nick Corrigan had nine digs to lead Greenville, and Logan Dameris helped Greenville in the back row with eight digs. Corrigan also contributed two service aces.

The Panthers (10-10, 0-2 MCVL) will be off for nearly two weeks before hosting Carthage on Friday, March 15 in H.J. Long Gymnasium. It will be "Go Gold for Childhood Cancer Night" with first serve scheduled for 7 p.m.
