Carthage and Loras Home to MCVL Weekly Honors

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (MCVL.org) – Carthage's Evan Walsh and Loras' Ian Walsh headline this week's honorees in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League's Player of the Week.

Evan Walsh earns Offensive Player of the Week as he leads the Red Men to a 2-1 homestand finishing with 40 kills and a .309 attacking percentage. In 12 sets, the senior pushed the Red Men past UC-Santa Cruz and North Park while averaging 4.44 kills per set and 4.9 points per set despite falling to Benedictine.

Ian Walsh is rewarded Defensive Player of the Week with his performance last week of 9.0 blocks, 1.29 blocks per set while adding 12 kills with a .290 attack percentage. The Illinois native led the Duhawks to a pair of wins while leading the team in blocks per set and currently sits in second amongst the MCVL in blocks per set and total blocks.

This is Carthage's fourth MCVL Player of the Week honor this season while the second for Loras.
