Hadzisalihovic, Holt and Nelson Honored by MCVL

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (MCVL.org) – Fontbonne's Emir Hadzisalihovic, MSJ's Ben Holt, and Greenville's Ryan Nelson headline this week's honorees in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League's Player of the Week.

Emir Hadzisalihovic earns Co-Offensive Player of the Week as he led the Griffins to a pair of sweeps with 22 kills including a season-high 12 in the win over Greenville. The senior averaged an .815 attacking percentage with 3.67 kills per set.

MSJ's Ben Holt was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week as he led offensive efforts for the Lions in a tough week against top ranked team #11 Southern Virginia, and #12 Lancaster and Eastern Mennonite. The senior finished with 22 kills off 42 attempts while averaging .476 attaking percentage and 2.00 kills per set.

Ryan Nelson earns Defensive Player of the Week with his past week finishing with 24 digs and 4.00 digs per set. The sophomore finished with 12 kills against Panther's win over Maranatha Baptist.

This is Fontbonne's second MCVL Player of the Week of the season and first since week one, when Josh Farley won co-offensive. MSJ also earns their second of the season and first since week two as Rey Sanchez won co-defensive. Greenville brings home their first MCVL Player of the Week of the 2019 season as Johnny Milabu did so last season on April 3, 2018.
