MCVL, U.S.A. — The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) announced its fourth edition of the 2024 weekly awards, honoring Mount Union's Jack McClure and Baldwin Wallace's Aiden Kim.
McClure earned Offensive Player of the Week for the Purple Raiders while Kim earned his second Defensive Player of the Week award this season for the Yellow Jackets.
McClure, a senior from Massillon, Ohio, did his damage both at the net and at the service line for Mount Union. The outside hitter racked up 61 kills, an average of 4.07 kills per set, and also registered 16 service aces in Mount Union's four matches.
He averaged over five points per set combined for Mount Union against strong competition, most notably three top-12 teams at the FrogJump Invitational. The Purple Raiders, with the help of McClure, took three combined sets from No. 12 Juanita and No. 11 Carthage.
Kim continues to shine for Baldwin Wallace defensively, anchoring the BW back line. The sophomore libero racked up 26 digs and had just one reception error in two matches for the Yellow Jackets.
BW earned two victories on Saturday, including a defeat of No. 17 Benedictine. The Yellow Jackets are currently ranked 20th in the AVCA National Poll.
