
MCVL, USA — The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) recognized Wittenberg's Michael Yurk and Mount St. Joseph's Ryan Bollhauer as its first two weekly award winners of the 2025 season, as announced Wednesday afternoon.
Yurk, a 2024 First Team All-MCVL selection, led Wittenberg to a 3-0 record in its first weekend of competition, earning Offensive Player of the Week. Bollhauer, a Second Team All-MCVL performer last season, earned Defensive Player of the Week after a strong performance at the net.
Yurk totaled 35 kills and hit a blistering .406 as the Tigers defeated Roanoke, Concordia Chicago and Thiel convincingly. The junior outside hitter from Indianapolis averaged 3.9 points per set in 10 sets played.
Bollhauer totaled 11.0 blocks, four solo blocks and seven block assists, against Lancaster Bible, St. John Fisher and Trine. The senior middle blocker from Cincinnati was especially instrumental in a 3-0 non-conference win over Trine, totaling five blocks and adding nine kills.
