
MCVL, U.S.A. — The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) announced its fourth week of weekly honors on Tuesday, recognizing Bawibawi Thang from Wabash and Peyton Koszelak from Mount Union.
Thang was honored as Offensive Player of the Week following a standout week for the Little Giants. Koszelek took home Defensive Player of the Week honors, anchoring the back line for the Purple Raiders.
Thang, a sophomore outside hitter, racked up 76 kills over three matches, an average of 6.33 kills per set. He hit .426 over 12 sets as Wabash went 3-0 with wins over Central State, UW-Stevens Point and Greenville.
This included a record-breaking performance against UW-Stevens Point in which Thang racked up 33 kills, the most-ever in five sets for Wabash. He had over 20 kills in all three of the Little Giants' matches.
Koszelak had 4.5 digs per set for Mount Union over two matches and eight sets played. He racked up a total of 36 digs and had just two reception errors on 44 reception attempts. Mount Union went 2-0 on the week, downing Thiel and Buffalo State.
