
MCVL, U.S.A. — The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday, recognizing Mount Union's Michael Bowler and Peyton Koszelak.
The Purple Raiders earned a sweep of the sixth edition of the MCVL's Weekly Awards, their second time this season taking both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week nods. Bowler earned Offensive Player of the Week while Koszelak earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Bowler racked up 37 kills in three matches, playing 10 sets for Mount Union. The junior middle hitter hit .574 for the weekend and averaged 3.7 kills per set. Additionally, he only made two errors on 61 attempts.
Defensively, Koszelak continues to anchor the Purple Raider back line, earning his second Defensive Player of the Week this season. The sophomore libero racked up 35 digs, an average of 3.5 digs per set in Mount Union's three matches.
Conference play for the MCVL 2025 slate begins this week. Baldwin Wallace will take on Trine while Mount Union takes on Adrian on Friday, Feb. 21 to kick-off the 2025 season.
