MCVL Announces Eighth Edition of Weekly Award Winners

MCVL, U.S.A. — The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday, honoring and Mount St. Joseph's Ryan Bollhauer and Trine's Johnson-Kuaho Ho'okano-Pelekai. 

Bollhauer earned Offensive Player of the Week while Ho'okano-Pelekai earned Defensive Player of the Week. Bollhauer earned this award for the second time this season (Jan. 15) and Ho'okano-Pelekai is a first-time winner.

Bollhauer, a senior middle blocker from Cincinnati, racked up 23 kills over two matches on the weekend. He hit at a blistering .462 clip and averaged 4.4 points per set, having just five errors on 39 attempts. Bollhauer had 13 kills in the Lions' matchup with Wabash. 

Ho'okano-Pelekai, a junior outside hitter from Kaneohe, Hawaii, had 13 digs, an average of 4.33 digs per set, in the Thunder's lone match of the week. He also had four total blocks, an average of 1.33 blocks per set. Trine completed a 3-0 sweep of Calvin in MCVL play.
