ELGIN, Ill. – The University of Olivet men's volleyball team lost its two matches today at the Judson (Ill.) University Tournament inside the Lindner Fitness Center. The Comets were swept by Roosevelt (Ill.) University and the host Eagles in three sets.
- Final Score: Roosevelt defeated Olivet 25-16, 25-17, 25-13
- Location: Lindner Fitness Center; Elgin, Illinois
- Records: Olivet 3-13 overall, Roosevelt 4-7 overall
- Seniors Ethan Valente and Kai Hartman tallied four kills apiece.
- Senior Everett Haynes dished out 13 set assists.
- Senior Will Mensching had four digs.
- Final Score: Judson defeated Olivet 25-14, 25-18, 25-14
- Location: Lindner Fitness Center; Elgin, Illinois
- Records: Olivet 3-14 overall, Judson 9-6 overall
- The Eagles led the first set from start-to-finish.
- The Comets held a one-point lead on three occasions in the second set. Following the third time at 6-5, Judson used a 5-0 spurt to go ahead 10-6. The Eagles did not trail for the rest of the set.
- In the third set, the Eagles went ahead 5-2. Olivet came back with a 5-1 spurt to take a 7-6 lead. Judson answered with a 5-1 spree to take the lead for good.
- Valente had a team-leading nine kills, followed by Hartman with eight.
- Haynes recorded 20 set assists.
- Sophomore Matthew Tollar finished with a team-best 10 digs.
- Olivet stays in Elgin for two matches tomorrow morning. The Comets play Midway (Ky.) University at 11 a.m. ET and Indiana Institute of Technology at 1:30 p.m.
