Set Notes
Set 1: In the first set, the Griffins opened with an 11-5 lead on a service ace from Kolin Scharnhorst. After a timeout, the Griffins held onto its lead going on for the 25-19 win.
Fontbonne had 16 kills and a .500 hitting percentage in the set led by Ryan Lively with five kills on eight swings. Scharnhorst had four kills on four swings for a 1.000 hitting percentage.
Set 2: In the second set, the Yellow Jackets jumped out in front 16-12 this time around on Michael Beard's kill. Fontbonne crawled back into it and took a 25-24 lead on Nate Paasch's kill forcing Baldwin Wallace to take a timeout.
Baldwin Wallace got a kill from Beard after the timeout, however, the Griffins took the lead on a service error and won the set on an attack error for the 27-25 win. The Griffins had 14 kills in the second with Paasch leading with five, to go along with his .231 hitting percentage.
Set 3: The two teams went point-for-point early, but Fontbonne eventually led 17-14. Baldwin Wallace got the deficit down to 21-20, however, the Griffins closed out the match on a 4-1 run for the 25-21 victory.
