Men’s Volleyball: Olivet drops three-set match at Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio – The University of Olivet men's volleyball team fell in three sets to defending Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) Tournament champion Baldwin Wallace (Ohio) University today at the Ursprung Gymnasium.
- Final Score: Baldwin Wallace defeated Olivet 25-14, 25-19, 25-13
- Location: Ursprung Gymnasium; Berea, Ohio
- Records: Olivet 4-17 overall, 0-2 MCVL; Baldwin Wallace 8-8 overall, 2-0 MCVL
- The Comets had a pair of three-point leads early in the opening set. The Yellow Jackets used a 12-2 run to turn a 7-4 deficit into a 19-6 lead. BW held the lead for the rest of the set.
- The Yellow Jackets had a wire-to-wire lead in the first set.
- Olivet scored the first three points of the third set. BW quickly erased the deficit and took its first lead, 5-4. The Comets tied the score at 5-5. The Yellow Jackets put the next two points on the scoreboard and never looked back.
- Olivet totaled only 19 kills, including 10 by senior Quinn Dickerson.
- Senior Ethan Valente was next with six.
- Senior Kai Hartman recorded 16 set assists.
- Senior Deontay Thomas topped Olivet with 10 digs.
- The Comets host Hiram (Ohio) College next Friday, March 8, starting at 5:30 p.m. After the Hiram match, Olivet plays St. Norbert (Wis.) College at approximately 7:30 p.m.
