Set Notes
Set 1: The Griffins trailed throughout the early portion of the set up until they grabbed a 15-14 lead on Nate Paasch's service ace. From there, the Griffins got kills from Cameron Graves and Braden Woolsey to force a St. Norbert timeout.
Fontbonne closed out the set the rest of the way on an 8-3 run capped off by Woolsey's kill for the 25-17 win.
The Griffins finished with 12 kills and a .526 hitting percentage in the first. Paasch, Woolsey, and Graves had three kills each.
Set 2: It was back-and-forth play throughout the second, but after trailing 17-16 the Griffins went on a 4-0 run with Tengis Kelley's service ace giving them the 20-17 lead.
The Green Knights tried to make things interesting late trimming the deficit down to 24-22, however, the Griffins finished off the set on Ryan Lively's kill for the 25-22 win.
It was another strong offensive set from the Griffins having 14 kills and a .312 hitting percentage. Ryan Lively took over with six kills on 10 swings. Paasch, Woolsey, and Graves had two kills apiece.
Set 3: This time around the Griffins took control and led 13-7 after an SNC attack error. The Green Knights stayed within striking distance down 15-13 on a block assist from Ben Rinella and Jake Bettag.
The Griffins, though gained some breathing room leading 20-14 and they never looked back securing the 25-21 set and match win. Both teams had a .111 hitting percentage in the third set. Woolsey and Graves had three kills each.
