OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s volleyball team suffered a three-set loss to Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) rival Adrian College tonight inside the Cutler Event Center. The Bulldogs won by scores of 26-24, 25-21, 25-14.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's volleyball team suffered a three-set loss to Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) rival Adrian College tonight inside the Cutler Event Center. The Bulldogs won by scores of 26-24, 25-21, 25-14.

- Early in the first set, the Bulldogs built a three-point lead on eight occasions. After the last time at 12-9, the Comets used two kills and an Adrian attack error to level the score. Following two more tied scores, Olivet took its first lead of the set at 16-15. The Bulldogs answered with a 4-1 run to go back up by three points, 20-17. The Comets responded with three straight point to even the score. Another 3-1 spurt put Adrian ahead 23-21. A Bulldog service error and Olivet kill tied the score. Adrian took the lead before a Comet kill saved one set point. The Bulldogs won the set with back-to-back kills.
- Adrian by seven points, 17-10, in the second set. Olivet fought back with a 6-1 run to close the gap to two points, 18-16. Two Comet errors pushed the Bulldog lead back to four points. A 3-0 Olivet run made the score 20-19. The teams exchanged points to create two more one-point leads for Adrian at 21-20 and 22-21. The Bulldogs put the final three points on the scoreboard to win the set 25-21.
- The Comets briefly led in the third set, 2-1. An 8-2 run helped Adrian take control of the set at 9-4. Olivet scored the next point, but it would not get any closer for the rest of the set.
- For the match, Olivet recorded 33 kills and posted a .172 attack percentage.
- Freshman Ethan Valente topped the team with 12 kills.
- Sophomore Kai Hartman was next with seven kills.
- Freshman Nicholas Gonzales and junior Dakota Galeazzi each had six kills.
- Gonzales posted a team-best .333 hitting percentage.
- Freshman Thayne Bilicki tallied four blocks (one solo and three assisted).
- Sophomore Everett Haynes dished out a team-best 27 set assists.
- Hartman registered a match-best eight digs.
- Sophomore Deontay Thomas had six digs.
- Chase Heuer slammed down 13 of the 44 Adrian kills.
- Andrew Gawrisch finished with eight kills, followed by seven for Peyton Doelling with seven.
- Brandon Ravelo led all players with 36 set assists.
- Gawrisch collected a team-best seven digs.
- Olivet plays three home matches in four days next week. The first is Wednesday, March 30, against Trine (Ind.) University. First serve is at 7 p.m.
