Men's Volleyball Stays Unbeaten In Conference Play

Game One
Final: Fontbonne 3, Wabash 0
(25-11, 25-13, 25-13)
Set Breakdown
Set 1: In the opener, the Griffins started fast grabbing a 10-2 lead on a solo block from Braden Woolsey. The team dominated from there cruising to the 25-11 win.
It was a near perfect set for the Griffins with 19 kills and zero errors on 28 swings for a game-high .679 hitting percentage.
Set 2: It was more of the same story in the second set with a kill from Joseph Huster giving Fontbonne a commanding 16-8 lead. The offense continued rolling from there as they went on for the 25-13 victory.
Set 3: In the third, it was some back-and-forth play early, but the Griffins started to pull away with a kill from Grant Garza giving them a 15-8 advantage. It was all Griffins the rest of the way going on for the 25-13 set and match win.
Head-to-Head
- Fontbonne set new season-highs in a three-set match in kills (46), hitting percentage (.534), and solo blocks (seven).
- Wabash had its struggles offensively with 11 kills and 18 errors for a negative hitting percentage of -.104.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Ryan Lively returned to the lineup and dominated with a game-high 12 kills and zero errors on 17 swings for a .706 hitting percentage.
- Cameron Graves had another strong game tying his season-high with 10 kills and zero errors for a career-high .769 hitting percentage.
- Kyler van Rossum-O'Connell kept the offense flowing with a game-high 36 assists.
- Defensively, Zach Rothstein led with a game-high 10 digs.
- Joseph Huster had a season-high three solo blocks.
Game Two
Final: Fontbonne 3, Wabash 0
(25-14, 25-12, 25-18)
Set Breakdown
Set 1: It was more of the same story in game two with Fontbonne starting fast with an 14-7 lead after three consecutive kills from Graves and a Nate Paasch service ace. The team finished off the Little Giants from there for the 25-14 win.
Set 2: The Griffins grabbed a 16-9 lead at the midway point on Garza's kill. With the offense totaling a game-high 14 kills and .355 hitting percentage they were able to go on for the 25-12 victory.
Set 3: In the third, the Little Giants led 12-11 on Evan Nichols solo block. Fontbonne answered going on a 5-0 run to lead 16-12 on Jacob Hartmann's service ace. They closed out the set on a 9-6 run for the 25-18 set and match win.
Head-to-Head
- Fontbonne played well once again on both sides of the net totaling 36 kills and a .284 hitting percentage.
- At the net, the team came away with six solo blocks, four block assists, and eight blocks overall.
- Wabash rounded out the day with 21 kills and a .055 hitting percentage.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Joseph Huster filled up the stat sheet with a season-high eight kills, .500 hitting percentage, two solo blocks, and one block assist.
- Graves had six kills and a game-high .750 hitting percentage.
- Kyler van Rossum-O'Connell dished out 21 assists.
- Rothstein posted a game-high 11 digs. He's now up to 1,166 career digs which places him fourth all-time. He needs 12 to move into third place and 151 digs to become the all-time leader in Division III Men's Volleyball history.
