Set Notes
Set 1: The Griffins opened with a 10-7 lead on Ryan Lively's kill. From there, the Griffins went on a 7-2 run and dominated the rest of the way for the 25-15 win.
Fontbonne posted nine kills on 16 swings for a .500 hitting percentage in the first set. Ryan Lively and Nate Paasch led with three kills. Braden Woolsey was already busy at the net with two solo blocks and two block assists.
Set 2: The Griffins carried that momentum into the second taking a commanding 10-3 lead. Fontbonne cruised the rest of the way winning 25-18.
It was another strong offensive performance from Fontbonne with 13 kills and a .344 hitting percentage. Paasch stayed on fire with six kills on 11 swings for a .545 hitting percentage.
Set 3: The Saints this time around led 16-12 on a Tate Sandvig kill forcing Fontbonne to take a timeout. Out of the break, the Saints expanded its lead to 21-14 on a double block from Cameron Chambers and Jacob Fischer. The Griffins were unable to mount a comeback with Maryville staying alive for the 25-18 victory.
Set 4: It was back-and-forth action early but Fontbonne got a kill from Ryan Lively putting them ahead 15-12. After a Maryville timeout, the Griffins never relinquished its advantage hanging on for the 25-21 set and match win.
