MCVL Welcomes Baldwin-Wallace for 2021

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) has announced the addition of Baldwin-Wallace University (BW) to its membership, beginning with the Yellow Jackets inaugural men's volleyball season in 2021.

"BW is excited to be joining the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League," said BW Director of Athletics Kris Diaz '78.  "In starting a new program, it was critical for us to find a conference that would provide us quality competition in a close proximity with schools similar to us. We feel that we have found that in the MCVL and look forward to challenging competition as we grow our program and compete for conference championships and NCAA tournament possibilities."

Formed in 2014, the MCVL membership along with BW includes Adrian (Mich.) College, Fontbonne (Mo.) University, the University of Mount St. Joseph, University of Mount Union, Olivet (Mich.) College, Trine (Ind.) University and Wabash (Ind.) College.

"These are exciting times for the MCVL," stated MCVL Commissioner Chuck Yrigoyen.  "To gain another quality institution like Baldwin Wallace says a lot about where the league is headed. We are fortunate to have BW in our league, which grows to nine schools for the 2020-21 season."

"I am excited about our program being a member of the MCVL moving forward," commented BW Men's Volleyball Head Coach Kyle Mars.  "The MCVL has historically been a conference consisting of high level competition, great athletes and very experienced coaches, and I am happy that our men's volleyball program has found a home in a great league starting next year for our inaugural season. BW student-athletes add academic and competitive excellence to any conference, and being a part of the MCVL provides another reason for why BW is an attractive institution for high level men's volleyball student-athletes."
