CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (MCVL.org) – The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) announced its second edition of the 2020 weekly awards on Thursday afternoon. Adrian's Noah Marcinkowski garnered Offensive Player of the Week plaudits while Mount St. Joseph's Rey Sanchez earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

Marcinkowski displayed his offensive prowess in the Bulldogs' two matches this week, totaling 39 kills at a .272 clip. Against Marian, the senior outside hitter set a new program-record with 31 kills, an average of 6.2 kills per set. He currently leads the MCVL in overall kills (226) and ranks second in the league in kills per set (4.19). Marcinkowski continues to build on an outstanding career, being named Second Team All-MCVL in both 2018 and 2019.

Sanchez showed his versatility as a setter and defender in MSJ's wins over Eastern Mennonite and Medaille. The Arvada, Colo.-native racked up a double-double with 24 assists and a career-high 16 digs in the Lions matchup with Medaille, leading MSJ to a 3-1 win.

The OPOW award for Marcinkowski is the second of his career, last winning April 6, 2018. For Sanchez, he picks up his second career DPOW accolade, last earning this honor on Feb. 1, 2019.

MCVL league play is rapidly approaching with the 2020 lid-lifter set for Feb. 18, pitting Adrian against Trine.
