MCVL, U.S.A -- The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League today announced its fifth weekly award-winners for 2023. Fontbonne's Joseph Huster was chosen Offensive Player of the Week and Mount St. Joseph's Logan Essen was the pick for Defensive Player of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week

Joseph Huster (Jr., MH) St. Louis, Mo.

• Totaled 17 kills at a .773 clip in a five-set victory over Maryville.
• Averaged 3.40 kills per set.
• 2022 Second Team All-MCVL.
• Attended Lutheran South High School.

Defensive Player of the Week

Logan Essen (Jr., L) Cincinnati, Ohio

• Averaged 4.18 digs per set over three matches for MSJ.
• Totaled 46 digs and ranks second in MCVL with 3.15 digs per set.
• Attended Oak Hills High School.
