MCVL Honors Wittenberg’s Yurk, Mount Union’s Koszelak in First Weekly Awards of 2024

MCVL, U.S.A. — The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League released its first edition of the 2024 weekly awards, recognizing Wittenberg's Michael Yurk and Mount Union's Peyton Koszelak. 

Yurk earned Offensive Player of the Week honors while Koszelak earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades. 

Yurk, a sophomore outside hitter from Indianapolis, racked up 34 kills in two matches for the Tigers over the weekend. He posted 17 kills in Wittenberg's matchup with 11th-ranked St. John Fisher, hitting. 400. Yurk then followed that 5.66 kills per set against Penn State Altoona. 

Koszelak racked up 10 digs and had zero reception errors in his first match as a Purple Raider. The freshman libero from Eden, N.Y. totaled 3.33 digs per set and added one assist.
