MCVL, U.S.A. — The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) honored its weekly award winners on Tuesday, recognizing Wittenberg's Michael Yurk and Trine's Hunter Haas. 

Yurk earned Offensive Player of the Week and Haas took home Defensive Player of the Week. 

Yurk takes home his second Offensive Player of the Week after a huge week for the sophomore outside hitter. In three matches, the Indianapolis, Ind. naative racked up 43 kills at a clip of 3.91 kills per set. The Tigers earned big victories over Mount Union and Baldwin Wallace with Yurk as the offensive catalyst. 

In those matches, the sophomore outside hitter hit .700 with 15 kills against Mount Union. He then followed that with a .419 hitting percentage and 16 kills in a win over BW. For the week, Yurk hit .447 from the pin position. 

Haas picked up his third Defensive Player of the Week award for Trine this season. The senior libero racked up 28 digs and had zero reception errors on 30 attempts. 

With Haas anchoring the back line, the Thunder won both of their MCVL matches this weekend, sweeping Fontbonne and defeating Wabash in four. His average of 4.0 digs per set was the most in the MCVL over the calendar week.
